My First Post

I couldn’t have said it better myself, Mr. Shaw.

Over the years, food has become somewhat of a passion for me. This interest in food became heightened upon my moving to New York City last year for university. Now, I relish in experimenting with new cuisines and restaurants and do so as often as possible (or as often as my college student budget permits).

To be completely honest, I’m not a naturally amazing cook. I mean, it wouldn’t take any of the contestants on MasterChef Junior very long to make me look like a total amateur.

This fact doesn’t discourage me, though. If anything, it motivates me to work on strengthening my cooking skills and be more adventurous about where and what I eat on a daily basis.

This blog will be documenting all things food in relation to my life. It will include yummy recipes I discover, reviews of restaurants I visit and leave satisfied, and just random tidbits that I feel like you all would enjoy reading about.

I’ve decided to create a blog dedicated to food because I feel like it’s important to understand what you’re putting into your body. Your body is a temple, after all. Or is it a wonderland? Whatever it is, it’s something that we all need to take care of.

To start this blog off strong, I’ve decided to shed light on three food bloggers whom I turn to when in need of some inspiration.

First, we have Top With Cinnamon. Having discovered this blog a year ago, what I enjoy most about it is the fact that it’s run by a 17 year old girl and still extremely successful. She posts “a multitude of culinary delights – mostly sweet – ranging from the indulgent to the wholesome and hearty.” Here’s a snapshot of one of her more recent recipes, titled “Healthy Sticky Chocolate Fudge Cake (like, super fudgy no joke) {Gluten, Dairy + Grain Free}.”

Another one of my favorite food blogs is Smitten Kitchen. In addition to the variety of delectable recipes offered, author Deb Perlman’s humorous writing style keeps me coming back to her blog every time I need a pick-me-up. Take a look at her mouth-watering Warm Lentil and Potato Salad recipe and see for yourself!

Lastly, the blog I go to when I want more health-focused recipes is Love and Lemons. Run by husband and wife duo Jack and Jeanine, this blog consists of delicious and easy (yes, those adjective can go hand in hand) ideas that actually make me want to eat healthier. I mean, how tasty do these pita lunch ideas look?

That’s all for now. I hope you guys  enjoyed my first post. See you all soon!
